What's new in 3.5:

New Features:
  • The performance of the rotate page functionality has been improved for PDF documents that have fewer than 150 pages
  • The performance of the page-merging functionality has been improved.
  • A new version of the PostScript print engine has been incorporated
Fixes:
  • The selected item in a forms listbox that has a vertical scroll-bar no longer revert to the top-most item when the selection is confirmed (163145)
  • Comment annotations that are positioned outside of the document display area are now forced to display within the document boundary (163154)
  • The Fast Web View status of a document is now correctly displayed in the Document Properties display (163407)
  • The mouse cursor is now correctly reset after clicking on an item in a forms listbox (163497)
  • When tabbing to a listbox, it is now possible to use the keyboard arrow up / down buttons (163500)
  • An issue whereby it was only possible to tab between forms radio buttons or checkboxes when the document was in 'fit page' mode has been resolved (163501)
  • The German / French user manuals are now correctly opened from the appropriate menu items / shortcuts (163379)
  • Having selected an item in a forms listbox, it is now possible to tab to the next form field without having to click on the document first (163536)
  • Tabbing between form fields when a document is open in a browser now works correctly (163539)
  • Using the scrollbars, it is now possible to correctly navigate a document that is zoomed above 200% magnification (163026)
  • Documents that contain large numbers of form fields are rendered to the screen much faster (163172)
  • It is now no longer possible to print 'secured' pages in a document to an unsecured file, thereby bypassing PDF security (163406)
  • Text searching in the 'up' direction now starts from where the mouse cursor is positioned in the document (163518)
  • Highlight comments now print correctly (163614)
  • General enhancements to the screen rendering engine.

  • The ability to display files adhering to the PDF 1.5 specification
  • All-new PDF forms-fill capabilities. This provides the ability to fill forms fields; import and export forms data; and perform in-field calculations through support for JavaScript.
  • Screen rendering quality improvements through the use of a new rendering engine based on existing Global Graphics RIP technology

What’s new in 2.5:

New Features:
  • Performance improvements relating to memory management, file opening speed, screen rendering times
  • Numerous enhancements relating to the quality of screen rendering and font handling
  • PDF Editor is now fully 'internationalized' and able to open, display and modify documents irrespective of the source language.
  • PDF Editor has been enhanced to enable the programmatic control of printing via the command line, such that it is now possible to print one or more PDF documents to the default printer without the need to interact with dialogs.
  • A new menu item, called 'Reduce File Size', has been added which removes any unused document objects and thus reduces the file size as much as possible.
Fixes:
  • Numerous fault fixes and minor enhancements.

What's new in 2.1:

New Features:
The product has user interfaces and documentation that are localised to French and German.

Fixes:
We have fixed a number of issues since the release of PDF Editor 2.0; some of these are listed below:
  • The product now detects the installation of version 2.0 and upgrades them, preserving user settings and the license key. It is still recommend that users un-install version 1.1 before installing version 2.0 or 2.1. A new serial number is still required if upgrading from 1.1 to 2.1.

Jaws PDF Editor 1.1
Release Notes (Jaws PDF Editor 1.0 to Jaws PDF Editor 1.1):

New Features:
Import/Export comments - new in this release is the ability to import and export certain comment types. Full details on this feature are available along side the new release in the file Commentsfeature.pdf

Fixes:
  • Occasionally, line weights were too heavy in the PDF version of the document. This issue has been fixed.
  • In a very limited number of cases, image corruption has occurred when a PDF was saved. This has been fixed.
  • "Bullets" were not displayed in some cases. This has been fixed.
  • A bug which prevented some 40-bit encrypted documents from opening has been fixed.
  • Some links to URLs did not work as expected. This has been fixed.
  • An issue with a PDF file which caused the Editor to exit has been fixed.
  • Blank pages were shown in place of pages with content. This issue has been fixed.
  • Alt + TAB now functions correctly to swich applications when Editor is in Full Screen mode.
